Product Notes in Product Management

The Product Description field available within Product Management can be used by internal purchasing teams to add notes or messages against specific products. This feature is intended for internal communication only and allows purchasers to record useful.

Purchasers may use this feature to:

• Leave internal notes against a product.

• Record important purchasing information.

• Share messages with other internal users regarding a specific item.

• Highlight product-specific considerations for future reference.

📌 Note: This feature is designed for internal use only and is not visible to suppliers.

How to Add a Product Note

1. Navigate to the Admin Cogs icon.

2. Select Products and Categories.

3. Open Product Management.

4. Use the search bar to locate the required product using: SKU / PID / Keyword.

5. Click the Cogs icon against the product.

6. Select Product Description.

7. Enter the note or message you would like to associate with the product.

8. Click Save.


Identifying Products with Notes

When a product has an internal note saved against it, a small information icon will be displayed beneath the product within Product Management.

Hovering over the icon displays the saved note.


Product Notes information

The Product Description field within Product Management is used solely for internal product notes.

Adding information to this field:

• Does not modify the supplier's product description.

• Does not change the product details displayed to users within the catalogue.

• Does not update supplier-maintained product information.

Supplier Product Descriptions

The main product description displayed throughout the Procure Wizard system is controlled by the supplier.

Only suppliers can update the official product description by:

1. Delisting the product.

2. Relisting the product with the updated information.

⚠️ Important: Internal notes added through Product Management have no impact on supplier-managed product descriptions.
