Stock types allow for an additional layer of grouping products together within the stock take, it also allows you to display this stock type with in the stock tab, helping users who are counting the stock know what they are looking for.
Examples of its use:
Spirits can be grouped by their type, whiskey, rum, vodka.
White/red/rose wine could be grouped as wine.
Products can be grouped by their storage location such as fridge 1 fridge 2 etc.
📌 Note:
If using master outlets please ensure the correct outlet is updated that is controlling position and visibility, this will be displayed in the stock takes parent outlet within the master section.
Any product sharing the same stock type will be grouped together in the stock tab.
By using stock types you are overwriting the default sorting method which is by category.
Steps to set and update the stock type of each product
Click the Admin Cogs
icon along the top bar.
Click Advanced Stock, then click Outlets and Stores.
Click the Edit
icon to access the outlet.
Click the Export Import tab, and click Export Settings.
Open the file and update column U with the stock type, this field is free type.
Save the file on your device.
From the same page in Procure Wizard select the file from your device and click Import.
