Stock items features and information
Stock items allow you to combine multiple products into one product for the purpose of stocktaking one product rather than multiple similar products purchased at different pack sizes.
Stock items, available only in the Advanced Stock module, can be used as substitutes for linked products in recipes and dishes, while also enabling detailed tracking of ingredient usage and product wastage, features not supported in the Basic Stock module.
Once created, the category the stock item belongs to cannot be edited if incorrect a new stock items will need to be created using the new or correct categories.
Stock items cannot be deleted; if you have redundant stock items to remove, please unlink any linked products and rename the stock item to do not use.
Configuration
Click the Admin Cogs
icon along the top bar.Click Products and Categories, then click Stock Item Products.
Click Add Stock Item Product and select the categories using the lists for each category level.
Enter and set the following:
Product description.
Allow decimal quantity, but only to be used if the pack size is 1 x 1kg and the product needs to be splitable by 1 gram.
Pack Size: It's advisable to use a weighted pack size such as Kg, gram, liter, milliliter etc., and not each or pack.
Tax Rate.
Click Create.
📌 Note: Once created, products can be added to this stock item via the linked tab using the PID of the products.
